Barry Roberts runs the Yorkshire Marathon

Barry Roberts, who is Enzygo’s Director of Traffic & Transportation in our Sheffield Office completed the Yorkshire Marathon in York on Sunday 12th October.

Barry completed his first ever Marathon in 4 hours and 13 minutes and finished 1890 out of 3,677 that completed the course. The weather started off very cold and foggy but towards the end of the run the fog did lift and the remainder of the day was bright and sunny. Barry raised approximately £500 for a local football team in Barnsley that his son plays for as they are currently struggling for equipment, etc and all the team and parents have provided their full support during Barry’s training and lead up to the Marathon.

England Rugby legend and Question of Sport Captain Matt Dawson started the race and other local celebrity runners included Danny Mills (Ex Leeds United), a teacher from Educating Yorkshire and Harry Gration (Presenter on Look North). Keen Marathon runner Emmerdale’s Tony Audenshaw (Bob) was also in attendance on the day.

The marathon winner completed the course in 2 hours 10 minutes. Barry would like to thank his family and all who supported him during his training and leading up to the big day.
