Enzygo continues to grow!

Enzygo has been busy over the last few months recruiting members to our team. Helping to grow Hydrology, Acoustic, Transport and Planning facilities here at Enzygo.

Ian Hopkinson – Hydrology Consultant

Ian Hopkinson joined Enzygo in July 2016 from Capita where he previously worked as a hydraulic modeller for three years. Ian studied Physical Geography and Environmental Science at Manchester University and graduated in 2012 with a BSc and MSc. He has experience of hydraulic modelling and hydrology for flood risk for clients such as the Environment Agency and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. He also has experience of writing Flood Risk Assessments and Environmental Statements. Ian has an interest in upland catchment management having written his post-graduate dissertation on the effects of peat erosion on dissolved organic carbon and suspended sediment yield in upland watercourses and going on to manage a hydrological monitoring project for a wind farm on peat moorland in Lancashire.

Darren Laffon-Anthony – Principal Acoustic Consultant

Darren has over 25 years of experience in acoustics initially as an acoustic engineer designing, overseeing manufacture and supervising installation of industrial noise control products with the last 12 years spent as an environmental noise consultant. Darren has worked on projects throughout the UK as well as France, Holland, South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Darren has undertaken assessments for a wide variety of projects including residential, industrial, commercial and energy from waste developments and specialises in minerals and mining noise assessments. Darren is a corporate member of the Institute of Acoustics and a Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying.

Sarah Strauther – Senior Transport Planner

Sarah joined Enzygo in September 2016 as Senior Transport Planner in the Traffic and Transportation team at Enzygo’s UK Sheffield office.
Sarah has nine years’ experience in traffic and transportation engineering and planning for both public and private sector clients. She has experience in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Transport Assessments, Masterplanning and Transport Strategies, Traffic Impact Assessments, Highway Statements, Technical Notes, Safety Audits, Non-Motorised User Audits, Scheme Identification Studies, Local Transport Plans and Travel Plans. She also has experience in Highways Accident Investigation and Improvement Studies, Road Marking Design, Site Surveys, data collection and analysis.

Sarah has worked on various smarter choices projects and has experience with business, hospital, school and personal Travel Plans. These projects have involved Multi Modal/Car Parking/Cycling and pedestrian surveys.

She has experience in Highway and Junction Design and Improvement and is proficient in using AutoCAD. Sarah also has experience in layout investigation using AutoTrack.

Sarah has been involved in accessibility projects using MapInfo and has experience with Junction Modelling and assessment using the programs ARCADY, PICADY, TEMPRO and LinSIG.

David Storrie – Director of Planning

David joined Enzygo in June 2016 to lead their Planning Team in the north working out of the Sheffield Office. He brings a wealth of planning experience of both the public and private sectors spanning over 41 years, 23 spent in local government in senior positions dealing with development management. David has also worked as a Consultant Inspector for the Planning Inspectorate and a Panel Commissioner dealing with appeals in Northern Ireland and was a Regional Planner for the House Builders Federation covering the Yorkshire region.

He has experience of securing planning permission for clients through the planning process or via appeal and has experience of securing land allocations for clients through the Local Plan process.
