Enzygo Help Gain Planning Permission for Charles Church

Odiham has a rich history with the first records in the Domesday Book, later in time King John built Odiham Castle during the years 1207 to 1214. The castle has been home to King Henry III sister.

Surrounded by countryside, but only a short drive to Basingstoke, De Montford Place has much to offer families with Robert May’s School nearby and the M3 close for access for fun family days out further afield.

Providing a quiet town lifestyle with access to beautiful open spaces, alongside easy city access, De Montford Place would be ideal for first time buyers and young professionals.

As planning and environmental legislation becomes ever more complex it has never been more critical for builders and developers to ensure that these considerations are fully addressed by working with a totally integrated environmental practice.

Enzygo is a specialist, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy operating throughout the UK, committed to providing its clients with Director-led, commercially focused solutions for challenging and often complex development projects. The company provides a holistic range of environmental services including waste planning, geotechnical and contaminated land, environmental permitting, flood risk, renewables, noise, ecology, landscape architecture, traffic, waste management as well as minimising the potential visual impact caused in the planning and delivery of major infrastructure.

The company was founded in 2008 by Kevin Parr, Peter Cumberlidge and Matt Travis who, between them, have over 40 years’ experience in the waste management, minerals, and environmental sectors. The company has now grown into a thriving consultancy with three offices, in Bristol, Sheffield and Monmouth, with a team of over 20 senior professionals. Enzygo has won a growing list of Public and Private Sector clients including Persimmon, Charles Church, Eon, GDF Suez, Saint-Gobain, John Laing Investments, Scottish Coal and Park Holidays.

Since the company’s inception, Enzygo has counted on Persimmon and Charles Church as one of its key clients, having completed a number of projects that have either already been built or are currently in the planning stage. One of the most recent projects is a proposed residential development in Hook, Hampshire, comprising 38 houses and 12 flats. As part of the planning process, an environmental assessment ground first needed to be completed. The results has not only enabled Charles Church to plan for a more cost-effective foundation design, but through detailed assessment of the data, the risk of existing desiccation of the clay heave was dismissed thereby saving development costs. The investigation also negated any potential contamination risk as well as classifying the re-use of site derived topsoil within the development.

In another proposed scheme, for residential development in Odiham in Hampshire comprising high value housing, Charles Church planned to include Sustainable Drainage Systems, in the form of an attenuation pond, together with open space provision. Enzygo undertook a ground investigation to provide design information for the development and to assess potential contamination issues. The investigation allowed a cost effective foundation solution to be identified and also negated any potential contamination risk. At the very heart of its business, Enzygo is committed to providing results-driven consulting services to the development sector, which are client focused and meet the specific requirements of this complex market. By providing a complete integrated service, with on-going support to our clients, Enzygo not only ensures that environmental issues are addressed but also that the planning process is brought to a successful conclusion.
