Great Crested Newt Low Impact Class Licence

Enzygo’s Principal Ecologist is now a registered consultant, able to use the Great Crested Newt (GCN) Low Impact Class Licence (LICL). Currently, only very few ecologists are able to offer this service. The GCN LICL will simplify the process for the customer and Natural England for a number of low impact type cases and will enable a more proportionate approach to licensing certain case types. There will be a reduced application process (via a ‘site registration form’ rather than a standard application form, reasoned statement and method statement). This translates into ‘less paperwork’, time and savings to licence these ‘lower impact/risk’ GCN cases. The citizen charter turnaround times are likely to be around 10 – 15 working days, compared to a standard mitigation licence of 30 – 60 working days. It gives the registered consultant the authority to undertake or to supervise certain activities on registered sites, subject to all terms and conditions of the licence (and provision of necessary information).
