This is a real opportunity for the right candidate who is willing to commit to and develop with an energetic business. The successful candidate would be involved with the team from a very early stage with the potential, over time, to shape the future of our business.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Desk/Office based preparation and delivery of noise and vibration impact assessments across various sectors with support from senior staff
- 3-D noise mapping and interpretation with support
- Field based noise monitoring and surveys at various locations as necessary and required
- Active management of onsite survey teams
- Assisting the Acoustics Management team with varied tasks as and where necessary to deliver the technical specialism
- Input into team development and protocols
- Assisting the Enzygo team on tasks as and when necessary which may be out of specialism
- Assist the Enzygo team with the building and maintenance of Client relationships
- Work within tight deadlines and within budgets allocated.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Degree/Masters in a scientific discipline
- Associate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics preferable as a minimum, but not essential
- Good written and verbal English skills essential. Experience of technical report writing beneficial
- Experience and working knowledge of the current main UK Noise Assessment and Survey Standards
- Knowledge of survey techniques including the general operation and principles of sound level meter and seismograph equipment
- Minimum 2-4 years of consultancy based experience (Preferably UK based), but exceptional cases would be considered
- Full UK (or allowable EC) drivers Licence (Clean preferable but not essential)
- UK Work permit if necessary (Enzygo would not organise this)
- A good working knowledge of noise mapping processes is essential. Knowledge of the SoundPLAN noise mapping software beneficial
- Knowledge of the specific information requirements of standalone noise impact assessments and Environmental Statement Chapters beneficial
- Working knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD systems
- Positive attitude and flexibility to a potentially nonstandard working pattern.

Additional Information which you feel may be relevant:
- Position to be based in STEP Business centre, Wortley Road, Deepcar, Sheffield S36 2UH
- There may be a requirement to work out of our head office near Bristol, or other site locations should the need arise. The successful candidate would need to be flexible on this point and it would be discussed at the time
- The position will involve a significant amount of travelling. This would be undertaken by the most appropriate method be it car (hire car provided), train or airplane. Significant travel expenses would be paid up front by Enzygo to avoid large out of pocket expenses (car hire, hotels, train/plane tickets) however, other smaller expenses (food etc) would be paid and claimed in arrears upon production of a suitable receipt and agreement of line manager/management team
- The majority of noise assessments require the night-time period to be assessed and may require weekend periods to be considered, as such the role will involve a level of overnight/weekend work, however, this will be distributed between staff so as to be reasonable where possible and enable a good work/life balance
- From time to time other teams within Enzygo (Landscape, Flooding, Planning, Permitting, Administration) may require assistance with tasks in the delivery of their work. Enzygo operates a very hands on approach to work and you may be required to assist these teams even though out of your key specialism
