Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare simple and complex Permit Applications (new applications, variations, transfers, surrenders) for Environmental Permits for all regulated sectors
- Support clients in the prepare of Exemption Applications, Site Waste Returns,
Operator Reporting Requirements, Improvement conditions (e.g. undertaking Energy and Waste audits, preparing Accident Management Plans, Odour Management Plans, etc.) - Undertaking compliance audits for Environmental Permits and Environmental
Management Systems - Undertaking periodic reviews of Best Available Techniques (BAT) for different
regulated sectors - Build and maintain Client relationships
- Work within tight deadlines and within budgets allocated.
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline;
- Experience and working knowledge of the Environmental Permitting process;
- Knowledge of the requirements of legislation and technical guidance associated with the Environmental Permitting Regulations, eg Waste Framework Directive, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive (IPPC);
- Understanding of DEFRA Guidance Notes;
- Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements and approaches to permitting and compliance on sites regulated under the Environmental Permitting Regulations;
- Knowledge of SEPA requirements and approaches to licence and permitting;
- Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems.
