Seasonal Ecological Surveyors

Enzygo have opportunities for Seasonal Ecological Surveyors to assist our ecology team during the busy spring/summer period.

This role is not office based and applicants would be self-employed working at locations throughout the UK. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

The role would include, assisting our staff in a range of ecological projects and likely involve (but is not limited to) field surveys and translocations for a range of protected species.

Working Hours:

Candidates should expect to work unsociable hours, weekends and at short notice, on their own or within a team.

Successful applicants will be added to our register and offered work on a casual or project by project basis. Projects vary from a single day or evenings work up to 2-3 months on site. Candidates may refuse projects offered, but once a project is accepted candidates will be expected to commit for the duration.


All levels of experience would be considered, but at least 1 year’s survey experience required. Full training will be provided. Applicants should be reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working individuals with a minimum of a BSc in ecology, biology or related subject. We accept applications from both self-employed individuals or small companies.


Rates of pay will TBC and is dependent on experience level but will include any reasonable travel expenses incurred. All necessary kit/PPE can be provided.

The projects offered are dependent on work won by the company, therefore there can be no guarantee on the amount of work, project type or location offered.


We welcome applicants from anywhere in England and Wales but are ideally looking for individuals located in the south-east, midlands and north-east.
